Violence is Never Ok.
The first thing to acknowledge is the strength and resilience it took to leave an environment where you may have lived in fear and, over time, lost connection with yourself. Any form of violence or abuse is unacceptable. Violence is not only physical; it can be emotional, psychological, sexual, financial and coercive, and it can slowly erode your sense of safety, identity, autonomy and trust in yourself. Healing from Family and Domestic Violence takes time. There can be many layers to understand and work through, and recovery is not about simply “moving on” — it is about rebuilding safety, reclaiming yourself and finding your way back to a life that belongs to you
Crisis First Responder | Trauma & Abuse Counsellor
I am a Crisis First Responder and Counsellor specialising in domestic and family violence (DFV), sexual violence (SV), coercive control, psychological and narcissistic abuse dynamics, and mental health crisis support.
I work with people experiencing or recovering from complex interpersonal trauma, including coercive and controlling relationships, emotional and psychological abuse, sexual trauma, sexual violence, post-separation abuse, gaslighting, manipulation, trauma bonding and loss of identity.
My approach is trauma-informed, person-centred and grounded in safety, autonomy and dignity. I understand that trauma does not always look like visible distress. It can present as shutdown, numbness, confusion, fragmented memory, hypervigilance, appeasement, anger, dissociation or difficulty making decisions.
I provide a non-judgemental space to help you understand what has happened, recognise patterns of abuse and coercion, understand your trauma responses, rebuild trust in yourself, strengthen boundaries and reconnect with your identity and autonomy.
You do not need to have everything figured out before seeking support. We can begin by making sense of what is happening, together.
