Crisis First Responder | Trauma & Abuse Counsellor

I am a Crisis First Responder and Counsellor Coach specialising in Domestic and Family Violence (DFV), Sexual Violence (SV), coercive control, narcissistic and psychological abuse, and mental health crisis support.

I support people experiencing or recovering from complex interpersonal trauma, including coercive and controlling relationships, sexual and psychological abuse, post-separation abuse, gaslighting, manipulation and trauma bonding — experiences that can profoundly affect safety, identity, autonomy and trust in yourself.

As a Crisis First Responder, I understand that trauma does not always look the way people expect. It may present as fear and distress, but also as shutdown, numbness, confusion, fragmented memory, appeasement, hypervigilance, anger, dissociation or difficulty making decisions. These can be trauma and nervous-system responses — not weakness or failure to cope.

My counselling approach is trauma-informed, person-centred and grounded in emotional and psychological safety. Together, we can make sense of what has happened, recognise patterns of abuse and coercion, understand trauma responses, rebuild trust in yourself, strengthen boundaries and autonomy, and reconnect with your identity and self-worth.

I also recognise that leaving does not always end the abuse. Post-separation abuse, legal proceedings, parenting disputes, financial control, continued contact and interactions with systems can create further layers of trauma and vulnerability.

My role is not to tell you what you should do. It is to provide a space where you can be heard without judgement, understood within the context of what you have experienced, supported through crisis, and empowered to make informed decisions about your life, safety and recovery.
