we are never shown how to be in relationships
In a world where relationships are fundamental to our existence, it is curious how little we are actually taught about navigating them. We grow up observing the dynamics around us, often mimicking what we see or relying on trial and error. We become experts at reacting to our external environment, seeking validation and connection externally, rather than exploring the depths of our own emotions and understanding our inner selves. We must dare to learn how to respond to what is happening within us - to acknowledge our own needs, aspirations, and fears. Only by developing this inner awareness can we truly engage in meaningful and fulfilling relationships, fostering connections that are built on a foundation of vulnearbility, authenticity, understanding, and compassion.
